The day begins at around 7:30 a.m. with departure from centrally located hotels in Mendoza. We take Provincial Route 82 and begin climbing towards the Andes, crossing the landscapes of Cacheuta and the tunnel that links this area with Potrerillos. Along the way, we take in the Cordón del Plata and stop at Potrerillos, where the reservoir sits surrounded by mountains. The experience also includes a technical stop for a morning snack and hot drinks. We continue towards the Uspallata Valley, passing tunnels, bridges and changing Andean landscapes. After a stop in the valley, we continue climbing along the High Mountain route to Puente del Inca, one of the most recognisable natural landmarks on this Andean corridor. The central point of the day is Aconcagua Provincial Park. During summer, we take an easy walk of approximately one hour to the Laguna de Horcones viewpoint, from where the South Face and summit of Aconcagua can be seen. In summer, an included box lunch is enjoyed there, with a sandwich, fruit, nuts, alfajor and water. Afterwards there is time to take in the scenery before returning to Mendoza. In winter, the experience changes: when snowfall closes Aconcagua Provincial Park, the walk to Laguna de Horcones does not operate. Instead, an alternative mountain walk is proposed when conditions allow, and lunch is served at an indoor mountain stop in Las Cuevas. Return to Mendoza is expected at approximately 8:00 p.m.
