Iberá Wetlands

Puerto Valle

Between the Paraná River and the Iberá wetlands, Puerto Valle combines the character of an old Corrientes estancia with a contemporary nature-focused concept. The original property dates to 1868 and is surrounded by more than fourteen hectares of parkland. Its location provides exclusive access to Laguna Valle and makes it possible to explore channels, gallery forest and wetlands by boat, kayak and guided wildlife outings. Horseback riding, walks through the grounds and time beside the river complete a stay in which the landscape is constantly changing. Puerto Valle serves as an especially comfortable gateway to the northern sector of Iberá, with easy access from Posadas airport.

Location

Puerto Valle is located on National Route 12 at kilometer 1282 in Corrientes Province, beside the Paraná River and at the northern access to Iberá National Park. It is approximately 55 kilometers from Posadas airport and 25 kilometers from Ituzaingó. The property is also well positioned for combining Iberá with the Jesuit Missions and Iguazú Falls.

The Accommodation

The lodge has only thirteen rooms overlooking the Paraná River, set within an old estancia surrounded by gardens partly designed in the landscape tradition of Carlos Thays. The property includes a restaurant, outdoor pool, library, quincho, private pier and extensive green areas. Its all-inclusive proposal can incorporate transfers and different experiences in the wetlands and on the river.

Why We Like It

Because it offers access to Iberá from a very well-kept property without losing the feeling of staying on a Corrientes estancia. We especially like the diversity of landscapes that can be explored from the same base: the Paraná, channels, forest and wetlands. It is also an excellent gateway for travelers who want to combine Iberá with Iguazú.
