Estancia Bonanza

OVO Patagonia

The experience begins long before reaching the accommodation. From El Chaltén, the journey includes a transfer to Estancia Bonanza, a 4x4 drive, a roughly half-day walk through native forest and a via ferrata ascent accompanied by mountain guides. As evening falls, isolation, silence and the immensity of the landscape replace every conventional idea of accommodation. A mountain guide remains available and delivers dinner to the capsules, followed by breakfast in the morning. OVO also offers a daytime visit without an overnight stay, but we believe the night experience is what allows guests to fully live the concept: crossing the mountain, reaching the capsule and remaining there as the light changes over Fitz Roy. •

Location

OVO Patagonia offers one of the most singular ways to inhabit the Patagonian landscape. Four transparent capsules are installed on a vertical rock face 270 meters above the ground at Estancia Bonanza, near El Chaltén, with panoramic views toward the Fitz Roy massif.

The Accommodation

Each OVO accommodates two guests and is arranged across three levels: a double bed at the top, a compact living area with a dry toilet in the middle and a suspended net below, where the sensation of height and contact with the landscape is absolute. The capsules also feature panoramic views, cross ventilation, curtains, solar power and satellite Wi-Fi. Access requires physical activity and a via ferrata route. The experience is intended for guests over 16 with suitable fitness for the hike and movement required during the ascent.

Why We Like It

• A truly extraordinary location opposite Fitz Roy. • A sense of isolation and direct contact with the landscape. • The approach journey as an integral part of the experience. • Only four capsules, maintaining an exceptionally intimate scale. • A combination of adventure and a surprising level of comfort at altitude. • The opportunity to spend the night suspended between rock and sky.
