Valdés Peninsula
La Elvira Natural Lodge
La Elvira Natural Lodge occupies a historic estancia in one of the most remote areas of Valdés Peninsula. Surrounded by the openness of the Patagonian steppe and close to the reserves of Caleta Valdés and Punta Cantor, it offers a simple, intimate stay deeply connected with nature. Its eight rooms and communal areas retain the character of a country house. A continental breakfast, Argentine cuisine and the possibility of arranging wildlife observation days and journeys across the peninsula complete the experience.
Location
La Elvira is located on Provincial Route 47 within Valdés Peninsula, close to Caleta Valdés and Punta Cantor. It lies roughly 80 kilometers from Puerto Pirámides and about 180 kilometers from Puerto Madryn and El Tehuelche Airport. The distance and isolation are central to the experience, so transport and activities should be arranged in advance.
The Accommodation
The lodge has eight simple double rooms, all with private bathrooms. Shared spaces look across the steppe and retain the welcoming atmosphere of a Patagonian estancia. The restaurant serves breakfast, lunch and dinner with vegetarian, vegan and gluten-free options. A garden, parking and assistance organizing local excursions complete the offering.
Why We Like It
Because staying inside Valdés Peninsula allows guests to experience its landscapes during the quietest hours, after most day visitors have left. We value the small scale, estancia character and proximity to important wildlife areas. It is a choice for travelers who prioritize territory and isolation over conventional luxury.
