The experience

We begin the hike in the Andorra Valley, designated a Ramsar site, where its peat bogs and wetlands are internationally protected. After crossing these peatlands, we enter the Fuegian forest, gradually climbing until we rise above the tree line. The trail, which crosses a scree field, leads us to Témpanos Lagoon, where we can enjoy impressive views of Vinciguerra Glacier. After exploring the surroundings and approaching the ice, we have time for lunch before beginning the return hike.

The place

The experience begins in the Andorra Valley, an area of wetlands and peat bogs internationally recognized as a Ramsar site. The trail crosses the valley’s peatlands and enters the Fuegian forest, gradually climbing among lenga trees and mountain scenery. Once above the tree line, the route continues through areas of loose rock until reaching Témpanos Lagoon.

Why we love it

Because it offers the chance to discover one of Ushuaia’s most impressive glacial landscapes through an active and challenging experience. The route brings together peat bogs, native forest, mountains, a lagoon, and a glacier, revealing the natural diversity of Tierra del Fuego in a single day.
