National Park: Trekking and Canoeing
An active day among the forests, coastline, and rivers of Tierra del Fuego National Park, combining trekking and canoeing.
From US$ 160
The experience
We leave the hotel by minibus for Tierra del Fuego National Park, more precisely Ensenada Zaratiegui, where we take in the impressive views of the Beagle Channel, with Redonda, Hoste, and Navarino islands as the main features. From there, we set out along the Coastal Trail*, a seven-kilometer hike that invites us to discover the varied flora and birdlife of the Beagle Channel, the Fuegian forest, and traces of ancient Yámana settlements, the region’s first inhabitants. At the end of the hike, we recharge with a hot lunch in a unique natural setting.

The place
Tierra del Fuego National Park protects a landscape where subantarctic forest meets the coastline of the Beagle Channel. The environment combines lenga, guindo, and ñire trees with peat bogs, rivers, bays, and traces of ancient Yámana settlements. The hike follows natural trails close to the coast, with sections of forest, roots, rocks, mud, and moderate changes in elevation.
Why we love it
Because it is an active and different way to discover the National Park. The combination of hiking and canoeing reveals the landscape from two perspectives: first through the forest and along the coast, and then from the water, navigating the Lapataia River to the Beagle Channel.
